Guide
Ankara padel tournament guide for expats and students: covered courts in a cold winter, weekend doubles events, americano format and your first tournament.
If you have moved to Ankara for an embassy posting, a university programme or a job in the capital, you will notice quickly that the city's sport calendar is shaped by a continental climate: dry, hot midsummer afternoons and a real winter with snow from roughly November to March. Padel arrived here very recently, most courts opened from 2025 onwards, and the club scene is still small. That combination means one practical question comes before everything else when you look for an Ankara padel tournament: is the court covered?
Ankara's padel courts cluster in Çankaya, the district that also hosts most embassies and international schools, with further courts in Gölbaşı to the south, Yenimahalle and Mamak. Independent court directories list a handful of facilities in total, many of them open-air or partially roofed; fully enclosed, heated courts are still the exception rather than the rule. Clubs are adding roofs step by step. One club in Yaşamkent, for example, opened its first court in June 2025 and added a covered court in September of the same year. Before you book a winter session, ask whether the court is roofed, fully enclosed or open.
From April to October outdoor courts come into play and clubs run weekday-evening events after work. From November to March tournaments move under roofs, and because covered courts are scarce, organisers keep capacity small and close registration early. For newcomers this has a simple consequence: when a winter tournament opens on QReserve, register the same day. A small field is normal in Ankara's winter and reflects the number of usable courts, not a lack of interest.
Padel is a doubles sport, so most weekend events open as team (pairs) registrations. You sign up with a partner and your pair is judged by the average of both players' levels. On QReserve a club's tournament listing shows:
Registration requires club membership; the quick-membership link next to the listing takes a few minutes and does not require Turkish citizenship. Results entered after the tournament feed into each player's ELO rating, so your next event pairs you with opponents who genuinely match your level.
Ankara's social padel life started with americano events. A club in Yaşamkent describes hosting "Ankara's first padel americano", bringing together players from several countries, and a club in Koru runs regular weekend friendly matches grouped by level. The format suits a city with few courts: no partner is needed, your teammate changes every round, an event finishes in two or three hours, and a single court is enough. For someone new in town, an americano is also the fastest way to meet the local community, which in Ankara tends to be a mix of Turkish players, diplomatic staff and international students.
On QReserve, clubs can publish an americano as an individual-entry, auto-approved tournament. If you simply need a fourth player for Saturday, the Ankara padel open matches page is the most practical route.
Padel is governed in Türkiye by the Turkish Tennis Federation (TTF), whose Ankara office in Yenimahalle handles club registration for padel. The federation's first national event, the QNB Türkiye Padel Championship, was played in Istanbul in 2026 with entries through the federation's I-Kort system. The International Padel Federation's 2026 calendar lists a single Turkish event, a FIP Bronze tournament in Istanbul; no international padel tournament has been announced for Ankara. The capital's tournament life today is club events and americanos, which is exactly where newcomers find a place.
The top of this page lists live padel tournaments in Ankara published on QReserve, grouped as open for registration, in progress, upcoming and past. Because padel is new to the city, the list may be short for now; listings appear as soon as clubs open them. For the full list of venues see padel courts in Ankara, and follow a club's profile page to track its league and tournament calendar. Several padel venues sit inside tennis clubs, so the Ankara tennis tournaments page is worth a look for winter league dates.
The top section of this page lists Ankara padel tournaments published on QReserve in real time; events open for registration appear first. Padel is new in Ankara, so the list may be short; listings are added automatically as clubs open them.
Yes, but only on roofed or enclosed courts. Some Ankara courts are open-air or partially covered, so winter events keep small fields. Check the listing or ask the club whether the court is covered before you register.
Americano-format events take individual entries and rotate partners every round. You can also join a match on the Ankara padel open matches page to find regular partners.
Yes, tournament registration on QReserve is made by members of the organising club. The quick-membership link in the listing takes a few minutes and is open to international residents; afterwards you can register as a single player or as a pair.
The club sets a lower and upper player level for the draw on a star scale. Beginners fit the 1.0-3.0 band. Tournament results affect your ELO rating, so later events match you with opponents closer to your level.
